Minister of Mines and Hydrocarbons @ Govt. of Equatorial Guinea

H.E. Gabriel Mbaga Obiang Lima is the Minister of Mines and Hydrocarbons of Equatorial Guinea, having served as Minister since July 2012. In that span, he has overseen Equatorial Guinea’s ongoing expansion in the energy value chain, including future mega-projects such as Fortuna FLNG, the Bioko Oil Terminal and the Riaba Fertilizers plant. Before becoming Minister he served as Minister Delegate of Mines, Industry and Hydrocarbons since 2008. Between 2003 and 2008, he was Vice-Minister of Mines, Industry and Hydrocarbons. Other past positions include Government Representative in the Equity of the State in the PSCs and Presidential Counselor of Hydrocarbons. The Minister has served as a member of the board of three national companies in Equatorial Guinea (SONAGAS, SEGESA and GEPetrol). He holds a bachelor of international trade from Alma College, in Michigan.
